No Shower in the Tower

Our first family trip to Blackpool was a ‘roasting’ success,  with southern Spain style temperatures being delivered over our weekend. The amazing circus display was simply magnificent.  The sealife centre, thrilling, educational,  interesting and exciting for parents and our two children alike. The walks along tbe south pier until gone 1030pm, summed up how holidaying on the uk coast can be enjoyed,  particularly with near 30 degree heat!

Our hotel, smart, friendly,  helpful and family orientated with a touch of class and great food, all within a stones throw of the tram and bus service that ran along the Promenade. Directly behind our hotel stood the Pleasure Beach. This, a mammoth selection of roller coaster rides for the brave and some others for the less thrill seeking, chilled  riders and of course rides for children. Our two loved the car rides, the train that took us throughout the pleasure beach (a good distance I might add) as the area was huge to cover on foot.

All in all a surprising,  entertaining,  well stocked 3 day break, with superb weather,  activities for all, lovely hotel (with great family rooms too for your children and adults,  plenty of space for 4 separate area for kids bunk beds). Would we go again? Our children replied by saying they want 4 days next time! Well entertainment is guaranteed,  weather,  well someone else has that power I’m afraid….so in poetic homage to our weekend away here is a little ditty.

Brilliant sunshine won the day

Lazing about with my family,  what more can I say

An amazing time was had by all

Circus stupendous we certainly had a ball

Kicking our heels we weren’t for sure

Pleasure beach in the sun- could we ask for more?

Organised views with so much to see

Oh how we were tempted, oh how we were teased

Leaving ‘the pool’ our children wanted to stay

They loved every minute, of every single day

Only the call of those darn 2p machines

Would allow us to bribe them, to eat up their greens!

Evening would come and we’d be ready for bed

Remembering a fun filled enjoyable time – enough said!

Marvel (ous) Universe Begins- Part 1

The Strength of the HULK

The speed of IRON MAN

To beat you to a pulp

Or crush you like a tin can

The God-like power of the THOR

The return of CAPTAIN AMERICA’s Steve

The action, never will it bore

Or make you want to get up and leave

The mind altering prowess of XAVIER

The cutting, sharpness of the WOLVERINE

Could Charles be mankind’s ultimate saviour?

A showstopper if put on our screens…

Would Jean Grey ‘lift’ our wilting mood

Could MAGNETO ‘attract’ our me(n)tal attention?

If they had children  – what an awesome brood

The road to mutant revolution or cessation?

Eye wonder how CYCLOPS sees things?

The intelligent BEAST would confur maybe?

The future is here for super human beings

Shield’s response would be swift and scathing?

What does Fury know

You understand he could be mimicked by Raven

Her effervescent  camouflage never shows

As she cleverly hides inside her own little haven

Sticking to our human nature we look to the AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

Is he related to the mysterious BLACK WIDOW?

He lives in an apartment no bigger than a tin can

This Russian keeps secrets she wants no one else to know

Apparently an apocalyptic event is upon us

Will we be rescued and at what cost?

A few mum’s and Dad’s with some extra Vitamin B+?

I’m waiting to be saved by a certain Emma Frost….

All about me? Say hello to…?

Why not I’m a writer

I don’t box, so I’m no fighter

Like to boogie when I get chance

And by the way it means I like to dance

Like being happy and never sad

My occuptaion is being more than a dad

Never naughty so no ending up in court

Enjoy going to the gym and playing many sports

Enjoy the taste of food, especially spiced lamb

Yes I’m the man from the midlands – Yes that’s Birmingham

No hiding in my family of six

Growing up was like a certain film – maybe the Matrix?

The blue pill guided my path, my life

Doors opened, I found a job and my wife

The red pill meant having a boy and a girl

Precocious little blighters, make up our small world

I have always wanted to write

To have the ability to excite

Involve, stimulate and entertain

That’s the target, that is my gain
